At Glitch Please!, we believe in protecting intellectual property while supporting independent journalism, legitimate criticism, commentary, research, and the free exchange of ideas.
This DMCA Copyright Policy explains how copyright owners may report allegedly infringing material appearing on https://glitchplease.cc (the “Website”), and how copyright disputes and counter-notifications are handled.
Glitch Please! is operated by Dillon Media Ventures LLC, doing business as Barking Llama Designwerks (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
1. Respect for Intellectual Property
Glitch Please! respects the intellectual property rights of creators, publishers, photographers, developers, artists, and other rights holders.
Our publication covers technology news, artificial intelligence, software, cybersecurity, consumer electronics, digital culture, and related subjects.
Our reporting may include references to or reproductions of third-party materials, including:
- Company and product logos.
- Software screenshots and interface elements.
- Product photography.
- Excerpts from press releases, research, and technical documentation.
- Embedded videos and social media content.
- Images used for reporting, criticism, commentary, or illustration.
- AI-generated or AI-assisted editorial artwork.
Some uses may be authorized through licensing or permission, while others may be permitted by copyright exceptions, including fair use.
The inclusion of third-party material does not imply that Glitch Please! owns that material or is affiliated with its creator.
2. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe content appearing on Glitch Please! infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to enforce, you may submit a written notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
To help us investigate promptly, your notice should include:
- Your signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work: A description of the copyrighted material you believe has been infringed, or a representative list if your complaint concerns multiple works on the Website.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material: The exact URL or URLs on Glitch Please! where the material appears, along with enough information for us to locate it.
- Your contact information: Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and an email address if available.
- Good-faith statement: A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy and authority statement: A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.
Providing complete information helps us identify the material and evaluate your complaint.

4. How We Handle Copyright Complaints
When we receive a sufficiently detailed copyright complaint, we may:
- Review the identified material and the relevant publication.
- Request additional information when necessary.
- Investigate applicable licensing, permissions, attribution, and copyright exceptions.
- Remove material or disable access when appropriate.
- Correct attribution or replace imagery where appropriate.
- Notify relevant contributors or users when required.
- Take further action consistent with applicable law.
We seek to address legitimate copyright concerns expeditiously.
Submitting a notice does not automatically establish that infringement occurred. We may consider whether the challenged use is authorized by law, including fair use.
5. Fair Use and Editorial Reporting
Copyright law recognizes that certain uses of copyrighted material may be lawful without permission.
Under 17 U.S.C. § 107, fair use may apply to activities including criticism, commentary, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
Whether a particular use qualifies depends on the circumstances and the factors established by copyright law.
Glitch Please! may use limited third-party material when reasonably relevant to legitimate editorial purposes.
For example, a technology review may include a product screenshot, or an article criticizing a company’s public claims may reproduce an excerpt necessary to explain those claims.
However, inclusion in a news article does not automatically make a use fair.
We evaluate copyright concerns based on the specific material and circumstances.
6. AI-Generated and AI-Assisted Content
Glitch Please! may publish images, illustrations, and other material generated or assisted by artificial intelligence.
We recognize that AI-generated content can raise questions involving copyright, resemblance, training data, trademarks, and the rights of creators.
If you believe AI-assisted content published on our Website infringes rights you own, you may submit a complaint following the procedure above.
Please identify the material and explain the basis of your claim.
We will evaluate complaints based on available information and applicable law.
The use of AI does not automatically establish ownership, originality, infringement, or freedom from copyright restrictions.
7. Counter-Notifications
If material you submitted or are legally authorized to represent was removed or disabled following a copyright complaint, and you believe the removal resulted from a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g), where applicable.
A counter-notification should include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, mailing address, and telephone number.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate United States Federal District Court, or, if your address is outside the United States, a judicial district in which the service provider may be found.
- A statement agreeing to accept service of process from the original complaining party or that party’s agent.
Counter-notifications should be submitted to the appropriate copyright contact identified in this policy.
Submitting a counter-notification can have legal consequences. Consider seeking legal advice before submitting one.
8. Restoration of Material
When the statutory DMCA counter-notification procedure applies and we receive a valid counter-notification, we will follow the applicable notification and restoration requirements.
Under the DMCA, restoration generally occurs no fewer than 10 and no more than 14 business days after receipt of a qualifying counter-notification, unless the original complainant provides notice of an action seeking a court order restraining the allegedly infringing activity.
These procedures apply where the relevant statutory requirements are met.
We may also correct, replace, or restore material in other appropriate circumstances consistent with applicable law.
9. Repeat Infringement Policy
Glitch Please! does not permit repeated copyright infringement through Website features under our control.
Where applicable, we maintain a policy for addressing repeat infringement and may restrict or terminate contributor or user access in appropriate circumstances.
Actions may include removing submitted content, restricting publication privileges, or disabling access to relevant features.
We consider the circumstances of each situation and applicable legal requirements.
10. Misrepresentations and False Claims
Copyright notices and counter-notifications are legal communications.
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled due to mistake or misidentification, may face legal liability.
Please submit complaints and counter-notifications carefully and in good faith.
Copyright complaints should not be used merely to suppress criticism, unfavorable reporting, or lawful commentary.
11. Third-Party Websites and Embedded Content
Glitch Please! may link to or embed material hosted by third-party services, including video platforms, software repositories, and social media providers.
We generally do not control content hosted entirely on independent third-party websites.
If your complaint concerns material hosted by another provider, you may need to contact that provider directly.
If you believe our own publication infringes your rights by embedding or displaying such material, you may still notify us using the procedure described above.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this DMCA Copyright Policy to reflect changes in law, publishing practices, technology, or our copyright complaint procedures.
The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
