Author: Cy B. Secured

Cy B. Secured does not trust your app, your smart toaster, your “secure” cloud dashboard, or the sentence “we take your privacy seriously.” As Glitch Please’s resident cybersecurity correspondent, Cy covers data breaches, privacy failures, malware, surveillance, password stupidity, and the endless parade of companies discovering that storing sensitive information in the dumbest possible way has consequences. He has a talent for translating digital threats into plain English without the usual fearmongering, which is useful because the security industry often speaks in either acronyms or panic. Cy prefers neither. He deals in facts, dry skepticism, and the quiet conviction that if a company describes a breach as “limited,” someone should probably keep reading. Part watchdog, part forensic buzzkill, Cy is less interested in flashy hype than in whether the locks actually work, the data is actually protected, and the people in charge know the difference. His guiding philosophy: Trust is not a security model.
